The warm, sunny months of summer are a thing of the past as we move into the chilly, crisp days of fall. When this time of year comes rolling in, we naturally take those lovely dresses and put them in the back of our closet, only to be forgotten about for months on end. Well, I am here to tell you that you don’t have to condemn those dresses to the dark depths of your closet, and, you don’t have to sell your soul to jeans and sweaters for the endless months of winter. The sea of muted colors that emerge during winter can leave you feeling like “blah”, so a splash of color from these dresses may be just what you need to brighten your day. Now, pull those dresses back out and read on to see how you can give new life to your favorite dresses!

  • When looking for the perfect frock, try going for a bold color to breakaway from the dreary dark colors of wintertime

  • Put on tights, leggings, or knee socks to keep your legs warm and make the dress more appropriate for the time of year

  • Any kind of blazer, sweater, or jacket is a great way to layer and keep you from getting chilled

  • Pair the dress with your favorite pair of boots (this happens to be my favorite option)

  • Change up the look of the dress by putting a long sleeve shirt or a turtleneck under a dress

  • Adding accessories, like beanies and scarves, is probably the easiest way to transform that sundress

Now that you have all the essentials, go ahead and experiment! Some of these things may sound a bit strange in writing, but once you get them on, I promise you will love them!
