PAVE a Mile for Sexual Assault

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at OSU chapter.

As most of you know, sexual violence is a serious problem on college campuses. According to PAVE, one out of six women on college campuses have been sexually assaulted, most commonly freshman girls. The fact that sexual assault is so common is heartbreaking. PAVE is a nonprofit organization that is determined to shatter the silence and heal survivors of sexual violence, both male and female. This organization not only wants to prevent sexual assault, but help the victims as well.

Although some conflicts presented themselves which resulted in the rescheduleing of the walk until later in the year, you can still join PAVE and participate in the conversation about helping the cause. If you are interested in joining the cause, can keep an eye out for the new date and sign up to walk here.

PAVE does ask that you fundraise $30, which will go to supporting their programs. These programs include social awareness, support and healing services, and community education. If you would like more information about PAVE and their cause, here is their website
