One of the biggest trends in clothing this spring also happens to be an outdoor picnic favorite. Gingham was shown up all over the spring runways in the collections of many designers from Oscar de la Renta and Michael Kors. This print is made for Sunday brunch with friends and perfect to transition into summer nights and getaways. Need some ideas on how to rock this trend? Your campus style blogger is here to help so you don’t end up looking like Daisy Duke.

For daytime, throw on a pair of gingham pants with a crisp blouse of your choosing and casual sneaks. You don’t want to clash any other patterns with this print because it is so busy. You can play up the colors of the top, shoes, and even the bag depending on the color of the print. Mixing seasonal trends is a great way to make a statement and that’s why I added in this fringed bag for a little more dimension.

For nightime, trade the pants for a skirt and crop top. The ensemble is more flirty and fun for an evening out on the town with your girlfriends or your man. And now that the weather is warming up, there is no jaacet needed to cover up your adorbale look. Add a clutch in a bright color or design to add a little more flare, you can even change up your shoes. But only choose one accessory to focus on being vibrant with becasue you don’t want to draw too much attention away from the skirt.
