I love to get my nails done. I used to have acrylic nails for about a year, but finally decided to go back to my natural nails. Last week, I decided I wanted to get my nails done for a Halloween party I was hosting. I wanted to get something that was very durable, but that also looked amazing. That is when I found out about dip powder nails. I have seen some people who have gotten it done before and it always looked so good, so my friend and I decided to try it.

Before

We went to a nail place near Polaris, called A+ Nails. It was a really cute salon! We walked in without an appointment and hardly had to wait which was great. We both decided to get dark colors for Halloween, I went with a sparkly gray and she did plain black. The process was similar to gel, in the sense that you don’t have to get artificial tips to be able to use the dip powder. Our nail technician shaped our nails to our liking and then added a couple coats of an adhesive of some sort and then dipped our nails into the powder. She then takes your nail out of the powder and then the color is on there! She went through the process a couple times to get the color super pigmented and then, like gel nails, you stick your hand under a light for 30 seconds, and you’re done! I loved how fast the process was.

During the process

I was pretty brutal to my nails after we got them done, since I had cleaning to do for the party, and they stayed in perfect condition. Even after a full week of having them done, and not being even slightly gentle, they still look amazing. I have even had people ask me if they are fake because in person they look so great. I 100% believe that dip powder nails are worth the hype and would totally suggest getting it done!
