10 Must Watch Halloween Episodes of Your Favorite Shows

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at OSU chapter.
The office: “Halloween”

Over the nine seasons of “The Office,” there are six halloween episodes, but none are as memorable as season two, episode five “Halloween”. Being the first of the bunch, “Halloween” not only brings the laughs but also brings the drama as Michael Scott has to face one of his biggest fears: firing an employee.

The vampire diaries: “haunted”

While most episodes of “The Vampire Diaries” are sure to get you in the Halloween spirit, season one, episode seven, titled “Haunted,” finds Mystic Falls in the midst of a Halloween celebration, meanwhile the Salvatores and co. are just trying to make it through the night. For a town with its fair share of haunting events, Halloween night takes things to a new level, raising the stakes in a way that changes everything.

Euphoria: “the next episode”

The outfits in this episode speak for themselves. Season one, episode six, titled “The Next Episode,” is plentiful in terms of relationship drama and progress but truly stands out for its Halloween looks which have cemented themselves in pop culture as popular costumes of their own IRL.

ABBOTT ELEMENTARY: “CANDY ZOMBIES”

Currently in its sophomore season, “Abbott Elementary’s” Halloween episode is the newest on this list. Season two, episode six, titled “Candy Zombies,” has its fair share of tricks and treats. When a bag of Halloween candy goes missing, the teachers must come together to find out which student is the cause, leading to many laugh out loud and heartfelt moments.

Pretty Little Liars: “this is ‘a’ dark ride”

It is not a stretch to say that “Pretty Little Liars'” Halloween episodes were the show at its best. Any of the episodes would have a rightful spot on this list but season three, episode 13 “This is ‘A’ Dark Ride” is nothing short of iconic. The girls attend a party on “the ghost train,” which brings a sea of jump scares (including the cameo of Adam Lambert). Nothing, however, is more shocking than the episode’s final shot.

Stranger Things: “Trick or treat, freak”

Filled with 80’s Nostalgia, friendship moments and genuine frights, season two, episode two, “Trick or Treat, Freak,” finds the group on the brink of a new mystery. It leaves viewers questioning which is scarier- the new threat lurking in the shadows or being the only one’s to show up to school in costume?

Teen wolf: “Illuminated”

Widely regarded as one of the most iconic episodes in the series, Teen Wolf’s season three, episode 16 “Illuminated” has it all. With a blacklight rave, mounting mystery and new couples on the horizon, this episode takes viewers on a ride going from blush-worthy romance to an ending that will leave you speechless.

Gossip girl: “how to succeed in bassness”

Not the most Halloween heavy on the list, Gossip Girl’s season three, episode seven is perfect if you are looking something with a little more glam than gore. With Chuck’s new club about to open, Jenny’s new status as Constance queen and new relationships developing, a good old Halloween party will give gossip girl plenty to write about.

Friends: “the one with the halloween party”

Perfect to lighten the vibe after a scary movie, season eight, episode six, “The One With the Halloween Party,” is surprisingly the only “Friends” Halloween episode, but it more than delivers. A last minute Halloween party, Phoebe and Ursula and a spud-nik – what’s not to love?

“It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown”

All time classic. Enough said.
