Going into winter is a great time to update your wardrobe and to consider buying new academic supplies to make this term a success. I’ve put together a list of must-have clothing items for Oregon’s coldest and rainiest season as well as some helpful school supplies to kick off syllabus week. Clothing
- Puffer jacket: This is the clothing item you need the most to get through winter in Oregon. A warm, waterproof puffer jacket is a great investment and definitely worth the somewhat steep initial cost

- This jacket is warm but not bulky and the zipper pockets are a good size, it comes in regular and long styles and four different colors
- Patagonia- Women’s Nano Puff Hoody
- Patagonia is another classic option when it comes to outerwear, this jacket comes in six colors and is made using mostly recycled materials

- Rain boots: Having cute shoes you can wear in the rain is a necessity for getting around campus. I wear my short black rain boots almost every day during the rainy season after ending up with soaked socks way too often freshman year

- This style is my personal favorite because they match everything and can be both casual or professional based on the rest of your outfit
- Lace up boots- Women’s Waterproof Lace Up Boots
- If you prefer the lace up style of Doc Martens but still want your boots to be waterproof these are a great option

- Sweatpants: Having several pairs is great so you have a variety to use on days when you want to stay cozy while studying or attending class

- New pens: There’s something about new pens that I just love. The right pens can make notetaking so much more enjoyable while keeping you organized
