Happy week nine! So close to the end of the school year. This past weekend was a three day weekend. In honor of the term almost being almost over, and getting through this difficult year. My friends and I decided to “send it,” as they say and go to Seattle for the weekend. I know for me, I have never been on a spontaneous girls trip. Here is a travel diary about our weekend. We left Friday afternoon at around 1:30 pm. Prior to the trip, many people told us that we would be stuck in major traffic due to the fact that it was Memorial Day weekend. I can say that there was very little traffic.

As someone who is from California, there is no traffic that can compare to the traffic that happens in California. We made two stops along the way, one for gas and one stop at chick – fil – a. When we arrived in Seattle we went straight to our hotel to check in and checked out all the amenities. What we loved about this hotel is that there was a rooftop view. When we were planning our stay we wanted a view of the city, and that is exactly what we got. There was even a pool on that level, with a Jacuzzi. The next morning we headed to a spin class. One of the things that I was most excited to do was to take a SoulCycle class.

As someone who has gotten into fitness this past year, I love every chance I get to work out especially when on vacation. We had scheduled a 9:30 am Soul Survivor class. The class was everything I was hoping and more. Every time I leave a Seattle Soul Cycle class I feel so relaxed. We then proceeded to the Amazon Go store. What is so special about this store is that you do not pay or wait in line for anything. How it works is if you download the application it scans you in, and you are able to purchase whatever you want. After that, we headed to the Odd Fellow in Capitol Hill for brunch. The food was fantastic, I was told to eat one of their homemade biscuits. I had that with some eggs and a salad. We also as a table decided to split the beignets after we saw a plate of them on the table next to us. I can honestly say that it was the best beignets and biscuits that I have ever had.

The rest of the day was spent shopping downtown as well as going to Pikes Place Market. One of my friends had never been to Seattle so we wanted to make sure that we hit all the main places. What I love about Pike’s Place is that people from all over the world come together. At each booth, they make one thing and one thing perfectly well. The next day we started the day checking out one of our rival schools, The University of Washington. As always sco ducks, but let me tell you that the UW campus is beautiful. We were shocked to see that there was an on-campus Urban Outfitters. Later that day we headed down to the ferry at sunset. Something about seeing the city from the ferry was so special. When we were on the ferry we all stated at one point of the ride that we did not want this trip to end. With the stress of school, I think it is important to go out and have some fun once in a while. I am thankful for the memories made in Seattle.
