Happy Spring term ladies, I personally think one week off is definitely not enough time. Now that spring terms is here, I know the transition from break to school can be rough. I know for me I often struggle to transition and get back into the school mindset after being on a short break. Here are some helpful things that I do to get back into the routine and motivated for a new term.

Insert dates, classes, and homework into my handheld planner and iPhone calendar immediately. I find it that as soon as I have a set schedule and know all my syllabuses inserting dates all information immediately keeps me on track throughout the term. I insert it not only in my written planner but by putting it into my calendar which is connected to my phone, I get alerts on my apple watch. This helps because I am often a forgetful person. I find it that when I do not insert things into my planner right away, I miss deadlines forget to schedule appointments and feel very frazzled often.

Another thing is to schedule any appointments at the beginning of the term. I often find that at the beginning of the term is the best time to schedule appointments such academic advising at the beginning of the term, you will not have to worry about things getting busy later on. Each time I go into a term I meet with my academic adviser at the beginning of the term and we schedule another appointment for either before registering for classes or before the term ends. This gives me the flexibility to pick a time that works best for me and not have to cram in whatever is left.

Pre-buy any supplies, books or materials before the term. If I need supplies such as textbooks, or toiletries I try to order them online so they can either be delivered to me or I can pick them up throughout my day. This way I have everything I need but do not have to worry about finding time in that first week to get everything that I need.

Unpack immediately, this for me is the hardest thing to do. I have noticed though that when I do no unpack immediately my suitcase will be sitting in my room for weeks.  Notice that when I unpack immediately I know that I can put all my energy into getting focused on school instead of finding time to do things that need to be done, that are not school related.

Setting things for the week or the next day. Every term I try my best to do this because starting school in the morning the last thing I want to do is think about what to wear or pack food for the day. Adjusting back to college is hard enough so in the first two weeks I try to set up the night before so I will not have anything to worry about in the morning and can get extra sleep.

Put on a facemask and get as much sleep as possible. Adjusting is tough and when I put on a face mask I feel relaxed. Also when your adjusting you need as much sleep as possible.
