It’s that favorite time of year, festival season is finally upon us! Between the lineups, travel plans, outfit planning, and maddness inbetween, festivals can leave you with an unforgettable expierence for you and your friends. Here’s a few upcoming West coast ones:

Coachella

Where: Indio, California

When: April 15th- April 27th

Stellar Stars such as: Beach House, Flume, Sia, The 1975, Jack U, and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.

Coachella is one of the most notable festivals nationally and internationally due to always the star studded line up and attendees. The kick off of festival season begins in the desert inspiring summer wardrobes and festival looks as well as inspiring one to gear up for the following year to just get a taste. Good luck getting a last minute ticket because like every year, it sells out just as quickly as Oregon football student tickets.

Sasquatch

Where: George, Washington

When: May 27th- May 30th

Stellar Stars such as: Alabama Shakes, Disclosure, Chet Faker, Florence and the Machine, Jamie XX,  and M83.

The Memorial Day Weekend festival is notorious for either having epic downpours or blistering heat, either way you cannot beat the view of the Gorge. The otherwise desolate area provides amazing views of the Columbia and the perfect place to roll out with your crew. Between the struggles of camping, music, and adventures in between, Sasquatch is considered a must have, staple experience for UO students.

Pemberton

Where: Pemberton, British Columbia

When: July 14th- July 17th

Stellar stars such as:  Cold War Kids, J.Cole, Tyler the Creator, Halsey, Chrome Sparks, and Keys N Krates.

Returning strong after only one year, get ready to pack your passport and enjoy camping in western Canada’s beautiful mountains. The structural style is most comparable to Sasquatch, but provides an alternative gorgeous setting with Canadian flair.

Outside Lands

Where: San Francisco, California

When: August 5th- August 7th

Stellar stars such as: Lana Del Rey, Miike Snow, Chance the Rapper, Years & Years, Major Lazer, and St. Lucia.

Located at Golden Gate Park, Outside Lands meets the expectations of any SF tourist and local with organic vendors, local beer, and art and music.

Project Pabst

Where: Portland, Oregon

When: August 27th- August 28th

Stellar stars such as: Tame Impala, Duran Duran, Ice Cube, STRFKR, and A$AP Ferg.

If you’re under the age of 21, you’ll be missing out (like myself). This year Musicfest Northwest and Project Pabst teamed up to create Portland’s largest and only festival of the year. Additionally, opposed to other festivals, this is significantly smaller in line up and only a two day duration. If you’re lucky enough to attend, enjoy the sweet tunes on the waterfront.

This only scratches the surface of festivals on the west coast and there are plenty of others across the country. Pack plenty of sunscreen, water, and your comfiest, cutest outfit and enjoy the 2016 festival season!
