It is so easy to get stuck in a rut when you do the same thing every day and have your routine. Many of us rarely stray from the typical flat-ironed hair or go-to pony tail. Yet there are so many fun and easy ways to switch up your hairstyle without doing anything drastic.

Waterfall Braid
Add texture and variety to your look with the waterfall braid. It is only a little trickier than the normal French braid and once you learn it you can do it without even thinking about it. Start on one side, if you have bangs start there and begin French braiding. Once you braid your bangs, you will “drop” the strand from the right instead of incorporating it into the braid as you continue around your head.

Ballerina Bun
A twist on the classic bun that sits at the nape of your neck, the ballerina bun is more playful. Secure a ponytail on the top of your head, hairspray and backcomb the ponytail, then twist around the base. Secure it with bobby pins and a ribbon if desired!

Hair Chalking
If you want a change in your look but aren’t looking to permanently dye your hair, hair chalking is a temporary way to add some Spring color. Wet strands and simply color with chalk pastels (can be found at any arts and craft store, not oil pastels). Let air dry, then seal in the color with a flat iron. It can get a little messy during the process so gloves and an old t-shirt are recommended.
