This week’s campus snapshot is Isabelle Harrington, a girl full of spunk and a keen eye for style. Check her out!
Name: Isabelle Harrington
Year: Freshman
Dream Job: Designer and/or set designer for Elle Décor Magazine
Favorite thing about the UO: I love the diversity and the large atmosphere! It is easier for me to be a little more independent.
HCO: Where do you get your fashion inspiration?
IH: Interior design has always been a passion of mine and I have grown up around it because my mom is a designer. I find that a lot of my inspiration has come from learning how patterns and textures work together and how easily it transfers over to fashion. I can’t say that I don’t check up on my favorite icons on Instagram though, including Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, Sofia and Nicole Richie and Julia Engel. I don’t limit myself to inspirations! I find many things inspire my day-to-day looks. Some of my favorite places to shop are Mojave Botique in Portland, Sloan Boutique, Aritzia, Free People and Nasty Gal.
HCO: How would you describe your style?
IH: One word to describe my style is comfy. I am all about comfort when deciding what to wear each morning I get dressed. I think that people look their best and feel their best when they don’t have to think too hard about what they put on.
HCO: What role does fashion play in your life?
IH: Fashion is how I can express myself to people by not having to use language. It is an eloquent way to communicate and portray who i am. I believe that simplicity in fashion is best so that the clothes don’t take away from the person wearing the clothes. Hence, my all-black wardrobe! ;)
