What is the most embarrassing encounter you have had with a guy?

Well, freshman year I had been seeing this guy and then at the end of the year he finally asked me to be his girlfriend, and I said yes. After that day we didn’t talk, and soon summer passed and we returned to school in the fall. So one night my friends and I decided to make a late night run to 7-11. We were there for 5 minutes when I’m standing by the door, in my sweats, hair in a bun, with no make-up on, and guess who walks in the door? My Ex. Luckily I put my hood up before he could see me and I ran out the door and hid by Glenwood waiting for my friends. I was terrified and I still have no idea to this day if he actually saw me.

What is the best pick-up line you’ve heard the past four years here at UO?
A few dollar beers back a guy walks up to my friends and me and just says, “Hey, how’s it going? Wanna see my Hello Kitty tattoo?” And of course we had to see if he was lying or not, and he had proof!

Did it work?
Noooo. After that we soon learned that he was visiting Eugene to see a Magic Show so that was already 2 strikes in my book. But it did make for an interesting story.

How would you describe your ideal date?

I think my ideal date would be to go laser-tagging and to dinner. It’s a great way to have fun and an easy way to get to know someone.

Who would take you on that date? What do you look for in a guy?
I would want a guy who is open-minded, goal-oriented, educated, and has a great sense of humor. Oh, and someone who is not clingy, no girl likes a clingy guy.

How long do you wait to reply to a guy?
I don’t really wait, if I feel like talking to a guy then I do. If I don’t feel like talking to him, then I don’t.

Do you have any set rules/standards for dating?
My only standard is that I still believe in Chivalry. I think that a guy should open the door, pull out my chair and pay for dinner. It’s definitely a turn off when a guy isn’t chivalrous.

Now that you are about to graduate, what would you say has been the best part of college for you?
I think the best part of my time at the University of Oregon has been all the people that I’ve been able to meet. Oregon has a great atmosphere in that people here are welcoming and always wanting to meet new people. Whether I’m at Taylors, a frat basement or a house party I always have the chance to make new friends.

Do you have any advice for underclassmen on dating, life and school?
My best advice to underclassmen is to get involved with a variety of school activities. Being a part of a club or smaller community within the U of O can help push you to do better in school and is useful in networking. Another piece of advice is to make sure you have a close group of friends, because they’re the ones who will be there for you when a boy breaks your heart or when you fail a midterm.
