5 Ways to Spend Valentine’s Day When You’re Single AF

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Oregon chapter.

Valentine’s’ day is the “love holiday”, but what if you love yourself? I’ve spent literally every Valentine’s day partner-less, yet it’s one of my fave holidays. I absolutely love the colors red and pink and hearts are my go to design on any and everything. There are so many fun things to do to celebrate love and romance- even if it’s a self-love you’re celebrating!

1. Watch rom-coms

This is an obvious one. Romantic comedies are a must watch on V-day- or any day for a matter of fact. Some of my fave rom coms are 13 Going on 30, Love, Simon, 50 First Dates, and Clueless. There are a million rom coms that I could watch on repeat, and like half of them are available on Netflix.

2. Take a rosy bubble bath

Bubble baths are romantic af- so why not treat yourself to one on the most romantic day of the year. Any bath product with rose in it is a must. Lush Cosmetics has a Valentine’s Day collection out, and their permanent bath bomb, Sex Bomb, is the sexiest bath bomb ever made. Throw in some rose petals and load the bath with bubbles and just relax. P.S. Don’t forget candles!

3. Host a Galentine’s Day party!

Technically, Galentine’s Day is celebrated the day before V-Day, but you can celebrate it either day. Grab some of your besties and celebrate the love you guys have for each other! Give each other gifts and chocolates and enjoy each others’ company.

4. Cook a five-star dinner for one

You could go out to eat at a nice AF restaurant- or you could stay in and cook yourself a delicious three course meal in your pajamas. Search a nice recipe online for your appetizer, main course, and dessert, and then go ham in the kitchen! You deserve a satisfying meal for once. Don’t forget a rich chocolatey dessert though!

5. Break out the wine and relax in some lingerie!

Splurge on some sexy lingerie and a bottle of wine and chillax. If you’re under 21, sparkling apple juice is delicious, and comes in red and white grape, as well as rose (cool for underage folks, right?). Sometimes it’s uplifting to see your body in lacy lingerie and hey!- It’s Valentine’s Day! Spend the night with yourself ;)
