As the nice weather starts to roll in, who doesn’t live for the days when our winter clothes are permanently assigned to the back of the closet, and we can begin to feel the sun on our all too pale legs. But before our thoughts turn to finals and the promise of what summer brings, many of us will embark on a road trip with our sisters in tow. And to ensure you make the most of your next trip, here is a girlfriend’s guide to help you.

Before starting the car, remember to bring the following essentials:

1. A TO DIE FOR playlist.

2. Food!! Better yet, you can always stop at In-and-Out or Shake Shack for those unanticipated urges.

3. Napkins to help with those unexpected as well as expected messes.

4. A hype man! The one friend that will keep the energy up and the conversation going no matter what.

5. GPS, especially for those of us that do not live for off-road adventures.

6. A good attitude! Being able to go with the flow is a necessity.

7. A fully functioning car! I cannot stress this one enough.

8. A good group of friends. If you don’t like someone who is going, you’re better off planning your own trip.

9. A phone charger.

10. Comfortable but cute clothes, because you will want to Snapchat and Instagram your way through the road trip. And who doesn’t want to look cute for that. Trust me, when you look back at those photos, you will thank me for this tip.

Hi, I'm Taryn and I am a senior at the University of Oregon. I have an unhealthy obsession to traveling and shopping. I also need to have fries and a glass of champagne a day to stay alive.
