8 Struggles of Car-less College Students

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at OR State chapter.

Not paying for gas or car insurance are huge pros for not having a car in college but the cons out weigh the pros. Here are 8 feels that are way too real for car-less students.

1. You have to get up early to leave early.

If only bus schedules catered to your sleeping needs.

2. Even though you leave early, you’re still sometimes late.

Walking slower than usual? Late. More bikes than usual on the road? Late.

3. You’re really familiar with public transportation.

There shouldn’t have to be an explanation for why this is a con.

4. You try not to ride public transportation so you’re constantly getting rides from friends.

Car owner? More like new best friend.

5. You’re always carrying around change to pay for fare or buying a bus pass.

Change is always floating around the bottom of your bag.

6. If you’re early to things you have to stand outside in all sorts of weather.

You’re the best at finding dry corners.

7. You feel trapped with your lack of independence.

Wanting to go off campus or out of town? Think again, buckaroo.

8. Going grocery shopping is the worst.

But at least your arms will look great for tank top season.
