5 DIY Essentials to Pamper Yourself Valentine’s Day Weekend

This Valentine’s Day, spend some time to focus more on you rather than on whether or not you’re single or taken. We’re sharing some self-love tips, tricks, and inspiration this week in honor of our self-love awareness week! Try these DIY options to feel your best heading into the end of the term.

1. DIY Edible Cookie Dough

You’re not supposed to eat raw cookie dough because of the potential harm of uncooked eggs, but we all do it anyway. Oops! With this recipe, you get the taste of raw cookie dough but without the eggs, so it is completely safe to eat straight from the bowl! Basic Ingredients:

  • 2 sticks butter, at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup applesauce (binds the ingredients together)
  • ⅛ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • For peanut butter cookie dough add the basic ingredients and:
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • Desired peanut butter candies
  • For birthday cake cookie dough add the basic ingredients and:
  • 1 cup mini white chocolate chips
  • ½ cup rainbow sprinkles

2. DIY Bath Bomb!

If you want a relaxing Valentine’s Day weekend, there is no other way to do it than with a bath bomb! Bath bombs are an explosion of essential oils and fizzy fun. Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces of baking soda
  • 4 ounces of citric acid (available in the canning isle)
  • 4 ounces of corn starch
  • 4 ounces of Epsom salts
  • ¾ teaspoon of water
  • 2 teaspoons of essential oil
  • 1 tsp. oil (coconut, almond or olive)
  • Food coloring

3. DIY Lemon Sugar Scrub

The best part about this sugar scrub is that it isn’t just for your face! You can scrub it on your elbows, knees, and feet as well! It smells amazing and really makes you feel relaxed. It’s also a simple recipe that’s really easy to make. Click here for the instructions.

  • 2 ½ cups of granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup coconut oil (almond oil would also work)
  • 1 lemon

4. DIY Cuticle Cream

  •          1 tablespoon coconut oil
  •          1 tablespoon aloe vera

5. DIY Cupid Floats

There is nothing more relaxing than having a drink with you while sitting in a nice hot bath! Cupid floats are the perfect drink for any relaxing and pampering night. Ice cream, soda and candy make for a perfect bath time treat. Top it off with whip cream for a little added fun!

Ingredients:

  • Vanilla Ice Cream
  • Cherry 7-Up
  • Red Vines
  • *21+ can add champagne or other liquors
