All your upperclassmen friends and relatives will tease you for your typical fresh-meat pictures, but you should know they’re just jealous. We miss having so much time ahead of us, that first year of falling in love with your school and really figuring out what you want to do. You may change your major, your friends, your boyfriend, girlfriend, or your job, but everything will be alright, even if you don’t know all the answers. We upperclassmen don’t know either.
1. The START session picture
You have to take the essential “I’m taking pictures with these strangers I just met” picture.
2. The Oregon State University sign picture
Just in case people didn’t already know where you were going to school.
3. The messy dorm room picture
You’ll soon learn that cleaning your room is overrated, and your mom isn’t there to nag you about it.
4. The first day of classes picture
The day you’ve been waiting for so many months is finally here, and you’re excited but also kind of freaking out.
5. The My-First-Frat-Party picture
Usually your first frat party will have a theme, and therefore make for some great pictures to show (or hide) from your kids someday.
6. The new friends picture
Making new friends your freshman year is one of the best things to come out of this crazy and exciting time. Savor every moment.
7. The football, basketball, baseball or really any college sports picture
Grab your spirit gear and get ready to cheer because it’s time to watch your Beaver Nation athletes kick some butt!
8. The first finals week picture
Tracking down the perfect meme about finals week is just one of the essential steps of studying, of course.
9. The posing with Benny the Beaver picture
Of course you have to take a picture with everybody’s favorite mascot. He’s at almost every event on campus, so don’t worry — you’ll catch him!
10.The sorority/fraternity bid day picture
You may or may not join Greek life on campus, but if you do you’re sure to post all about it so all your high school classmates know how cool you are.
11.The roommates picture
Whether you love, hate, or just kind-of get along with your roommates, make sure you try to create a bond with them. No one else will be so close to you and know all of the quirks the outside world may not see, go to the dining hall with you, or go for a midnight ice cream run.
12.The club meeting picture
Freshman year is all about trying new things and joining clubs or at least checking out a meeting or two is a great way to do that. If you have an interest there is probably a club of people on campus who share the same one.
13.The ID card picture
One way we know you’re a freshman: you all wear your ID cards on lanyards everywhere. But it’s ok — we only laugh because we remember doing the same exact thing after hearing the price to replace our card.
Welcome to OSU, Class of 2019!
