Thoughts of an Introvert at the Beginning of the Semester

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Oneonta chapter.

1. Getting to class early so people don’t stare at you when you walk in the room.

2. Choosing your seat strategically because it’s where you’ll be for the rest of the semester.

3. In your head you rehearse saying “here” for when the teacher calls your name during attendance.

4. Scanning the syllabus right away for the words…”class presentation” dun dun dun…

5. Hoping your professor isn’t the type to call on students randomly…And then having a mental breakdown when they are.

6. Wanting to voice your opinions in class discussions but not wanting the attention.

7. Looking around the room to see who your future group project partners might be.

8. Waiting all day for some alone time after being social.
