5 Signs That You’re a Fashion Major

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Oneonta chapter.

Every fashion major has either gone through, is going through, or has yet to go through these 5 things. To all of my fashion majors, just know we’re in this together!

1. Your friends come to you for anything fashion related.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a design or merchandising major, if your friend’s blouse ripped, she’s most likely coming to you to fix it. Oh, and not to mention last minute DIY Halloween costumes, yeah your friends are coming to you for that too!

2. You put way too much pressure on yourself when picking out an outfit.

Let’s face it, you have a reputation to uphold and if you don’t meet your expectations, what are people going to think when you tell them you’re a fashion major?

3. You could care less who actually won a Golden Globe.

Anyone else watch award shows strictly for the fashion? No? Okay, I guess it’s just us fashion majors.

4. New York or Los Angeles?

When someone asks what are your goals for the future, most likely the number one answer is either “I’ll be living in New York” or “I plan on moving out the California” and we all know, there’s no in between!

5. Who is he?

Is that some sort of male species? If you’re a fashion major you know you take a double take when you see a boy in your class. Granted, there are fashion majors who are boys, but more than not, your classes are highly female populated. Maybe this is why we’re so awkward when we encounter boys outside of the classroom?
