5 Holy Grail Skincare Products on a Budget

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Oneonta chapter.

Anybody who knows me knows I am a skincare freak. I’m constantly buying a new moisturizer or trying out a new facemask. Unfortunately, all of these products add up! While I would love to splurge on every new purchase, sometimes I have to keep it cheap. In the hopes that other skincare lovers can save some money, I’ve decided to compile a list of my favorite (read: most effective) affordable skincare products! Read on if you like your pores small, but not your wallet:

1. SheaMoisture African Black Soap Clarifying Mud Mask

I am always falling victim to the single-use mask packets at Walmart, but buying larger tubs of the stuff ends up being waaaaay cheaper, and it goes a long way! This mask is so amazing at pulling things out of your pores. In fact, it’s so effective that it can pull fresh pimple to the surface! That may not sound like a good thing, but it means that all of the toxins in your skin are being removed, which is great in the long run.

2. Witch Hazel (any brand)

I have tried a lot of different toners but witch hazel has always been the best for keeping oil at bay and removing redness from my skin. And it’s all-natural!

3. Tea Tree Oil (any brand)

Tea tree oil will fix your acne more than any amount of Mario Badescu drying lotion ever could, sorry Kylie Jenner. Another all natural product, tea tree oil is great as a spot treatment or as an overall face product. I personally use it on a cotton swab directly over spots, or I dilute just a few drops of it with witch hazel and sweep it over my entire face. I buy it for very cheap at TJ Maxx, and because you need so little of it at a time, it lasts for a long time!

4. Oxy Daily Defense Cleansing Pads

I absolutely love Oxy pads for my breakouts on both my face and my body! They’re so cheap and they work really well for clearing up acne and preventing it.

5. Formula 10.0.6 Pores Be Pure Skin-Clarifying Mask

I have never met a Formula 10.0.6 mask that I didn’t like but this mud mask is so amazing and smells WONDERFUL. The best part is Ulta almost always has this brand on sale for BOGO 50% off. So you can try allllll the masks.

There you have it! Five of my holy-grail affordable skincare products! I hope you find my recommendations to be helpful—now go tighten those pores!
