5 Best Ways to Save Money While Shopping

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Oneonta chapter.

Being a shopaholic myself, I am always looking for ways to get the best deals on the most stylish items. Here are a few tips I have picked up along the way that help me look cute while staying on a budget.

1. CLEARANCE

When I walk into a store I head straight for the clearance rack. It takes a little digging, but the clearance rack holds many hidden treasures for nearly half the price. There is no better feeling than looking at the price tag and seeing how much you are saving.

2. Shop at stores like TJ Maxx and Marshalls

Much like the clearance rack, TJ Maxx and Marshalls are home to an abundance of cute clothes at a fraction of the cost.

3. THRIFT STORES

Thrift stores are all the rage now-a-days and it’s very obvious why. Unique clothing for low prices and you’re helping the planet by recycling. Why would anyone shop anywhere else?

4. Know how to get the most out of deals and promos

If you’re shopping at a store, such as Kohls, make sure to take full advantage of all the deals and coupons they offer. By signing up to receive emails from a store you can often get discounts every time you shop. A simple task such as signing up for emails is an easy way to save money when you shop.

5. Know the value of what you’re buying

When shopping it is important to pay attention to the quality of what you are buying and if it is worth the price. If you are thinking of buying something on the more expensive end ask yourself; Is it good quality? Will this be an item I’ll wear a lot? Will this item stay in trend for more than one season? When buying more expensive clothing you want to make sure you are going to get your money’s worth in the end.

I hope these tips are helpful!
