The 10 Reasons We Don’t Deserve Dogs

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Oneonta chapter.

Anyone that has a dog can probably agree that dogs are a gift sent from heaven. Personally, I have two dogs and they have been with me throughout so much of my life and I couldn’t imagine not having my puppies in my life. Here are some reasons why dogs are too good for us and I’m sure most dog lovers will agree.

1. They won’t judge you for the way you look.

You can chill in sweatpants, no makeup and 2nd day hair and your dog will love you just the same.

2. You always have a cuddle buddy.

Since dogs stay inside all day, their always there to give you some extra cuddles.

3. They can relieve your stress.

4. They can sense your emotions.

Dogs can sense when you’re sad or upset and will always be there for you. I don’t know about anyone else’s dogs, but when I’m feeling down my dogs will always come and sit next to me.

5. They don’t judge you for sleeping until noon.

Besides, they sleep all day too

6. They are drama-free friends.

Although it would be amazing if dogs could talk, the upside is they may be your only friend that doesn’t have the occasional drama

7. They greet you at the door every single time.

Dogs will without a doubt make you feel loved every time you come home. Even if you were only gone for 15 minutes.

8. They can be your personal blanket.

9. They are always down to play.

If you even pick up a toy most dogs will be down to fetch or run around with you. Which can also be good excersise.

10. They will love you unconditionally.

If you can go give your puppy some love, then do it! One of the hardest parts of college is being away from my dogs. It has made me realize just how amazing dogs are and maybe we don’t deserve them.
