Upcoming Summer Concert Festivals

The college semester is almost over and the upcoming festivities of the summer are quickly approaching. If you are a big music fan, here are some exciting, popular music festivals approaching this upcoming summer season that you should attend. 
 
1. Hang Out Music Festival 
 
The 3rd annual Hangout Music Festival will take place on May 18th, 19th, & 20th,  2012 on the white sandy beaches of Gulf Shores, Alabama.
 
The Hangout Music Festival gives to guests a unique concert experience and each year features a diverse array of top music artists and talents. In past years, the festival featured a diverse lineup, including: Paul Simon, The Foo Fighters, Cee Lo Green, The Black Keys, Girl Talk and The Flaming Lips. 
 
Headlining this year at the 2012 Festival will be the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Dave Matthews Band, and Jack White. 
 
The 2012 Hangout Festival is sure to continue to deliver a unique experience to their fans with with this year’s incredible lineup and an expanded and improved site experience. 
 
2. Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival 
 
The Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival is an annual four day music festival that is produced by Mark Barr and AC Entertainment that is held at Great Stage Park on a farm in Manchester, Tennessee. 
 
The main attractions of the festival are the multiple stages of live music, featuring a diverse array of musical styles including jazz, hip hop, country, gospel reggae, and many more music genres. 
 
The 11th annual festival event will take place on June 7 through June 10th, 2012. 
 
Headlining this year at the 2012 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival will be Radiohead, Phish, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. 
 
 3. Governor’s Ball Music Festival
 
The Governor’s Ball Music Festival is a two-day, two-stage festival featuring some of the biggest and best acts in live music. 
 
The 2012 Governor’s Ball Music Festival will take place on Saturday and Sunday, June 23 & 24, 2012 on Randall’s Island in New York City. 
 
Headlining this year at the 2012 Governor’s Ball Music Festival will be Beck, Modest Mouse, and Passion Pit. 
 
To get to the festival at Randall’s Island there is public transportation available such as ferries and festival shuttles. 
 
 4. Lollapalooza
 
Lollapalooza is a festival held over 115 acres at Grant Park in Chicago and contains multiple stages featuring a diverse selection of artists from reggae, rock, hip hop, and many more music genres.

The 2012 Lollapalooza musical festival will take place on August 3rd through August 5th, 2012. 
 
Headlining this year at Lollapalooza will be the Black Keys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Black Sabbath, Jack White, and Florence + The Machine.
