Five Fun Fall Favorites

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Ole Miss chapter.

It is fall once again, and that means that I’ve spent the last few weeks unpacking my sweaters and scarves, buying new candles, and ordering hot drinks at Starbucks, instead of my typical iced coffee. I decided, what better way to kick off the new season than to share my favorite things about fall.

  1. Turtleneck Sweaters.

Turtlenecks, for me, are a bit of an uncomfortable throwback to early middle school because I wore them constantly. However, I like to think that I pull them off a little better now. These days, they are a cute, vintage-inspired piece of my wardrobe.

2) Chai Tea Lattes from Starbucks

Typically, I’m a ‘coffee all day, everyday’ sort of person, but lately I’ve started ordering this as I leave the library after a long study session for the walk back to my dorm. There’s just something about walking around in the cold with a hot cup of tea.

3) Checkered Pants and Coats

I love this look. It somehow manages to look both very comfortable and stylish. You can wear it plain or add an accessory with a contrasting pattern to give it a pop. I finally added a jacket to my closet, and I am in love!

4) Fluffy Knee High Socks

Everyone loves to snuggle up in their pjs with a fluffy pair of socks on. Fall is, in my opinion, the best time to find some. I bought myself an orange pair from Walmart last week. Best decision I’ve made in a long time.

5) End of Season Sales.

I tend to shop off of the clearance racks year-round, so I’m sure you can imagine how thrilled I became when stores started cutting prices on their summer clothes. It’s never too late to start acquiring clothes to wear next year!
