As summer comes to a halt and the semester begins, it’s natural that we feel a bit overwhelmed.  However, we have to remember that we are strong, independant women who don’t shy away from exams (that’s how it goes right?) and who consistently kill the college game. This semester, use the following list as a friendly reminder and pick-me-up if you start to feel any doubt at in your influential and unstoppable role as brilliant college women.

BAM! This semester is for smashing glass ceilings! Why not do so while rocking the perfect girl power merch from the The Her Campus Shop?

Representation is key so this semester, look to get involved in something that’s typically a “boys only” club so we have our voices heard in a variety of campus affairs. Let’s be the women little girls like this everywhere can look up to.

And nothing else! It starts with us… we must lift eachother up and not concern ourselves with silly gossip.

Because Zooey Deschanel is our spirit animal and if you need to find us around campus, listen for the girls yelling about equal pay and opportunities.

And, our sister spirit animal is also Amy Poehler, the queen of hilariously questioning all things sexist and conformist.

The best kinds of nudes, amiright ladies?

Because. Nobody. Ever. Asks. For. It.

Houda al-Habash questions Islamic women’s traditional roles and pushes for female representation in religion, education, public life, and the workforce.  For every one of us collegiettes, an entire future generation will be born and what is more amazing than that?

Because this is 2016 and third wave feminism is all about intersectionality. Remember this with every single person you come across on campus, no matter whom they identify as! Like punk rocker Kathleen Hanna said, “there’s just as many different kinds of feminism as there are women in the world.” Woah.

And last but certainly not least, a throwback to Her Conference 2016 when Editor-In-Chief of ESSENCE magazine, Vanessa K. De Luca, shared great insight with us such as “know what you stand for and what you don’t,” and “take the risk that takes you somewhere new.”  No shortcuts this semester, ladies!

We got this, collegiettes.
