College is possibly the busiest time in most people’s lives. With lectures to attend, assignments to complete and a social life to keep up with, it can be hard to balance it all. When I first got to college, it seemed overwhelming to try to keep up with everything you are responsible for. I wanted to share the best tips I have learned for time management. I hope these three tips help you to manage your time well so that you have more time to be a #girlboss.

Actually look at the syllabus!

On the first day of class, your professor will most likely go over the syllabus. You may feel like putting that away never to look at it again but DON’T. You need this. You will want to refer to it often to make sure you don’t miss an assignment or a test!

Use a planner!

You may think that you can remember everything, but trust me, you need a planner. You can either use a paper planner or use google calendar. I personally use google calendar, because it is easy to move things around, add things or delete things. What I like to do is add in all my classes, work, meetings and events first. After I do that, I like to add reminders to do my homework by referring to all my syllabi and seeing what I have going on that week. This helps me to see when I have time to do what assignment.

Schedule in some breaks!

It’s good to be productive, but you also have to know when to take a break. If you keep going without a break, you could get burnt out. You need to allow time to do something fun with your friends, have a night in or anything else you may want to do to take a break.
