For as long as I can remember, I can remember watching youtubers working with cool companies and dreaming of one day being able to do that. Little did I know it would happen a lot sooner than predicted. I have followed Her Campus for about a year, read blogs, and dreamed about working with them one day. Little did I know my new school would have a chapter with Her Campus, and after wanting to do YouTube for years, I finally went through with it and it’s proved to be an awesome decision. In August, I took a leap of faith and filled out an application to be a Her Campus Trendsetter, not anywhere near prepared for the email I’d receive in a few weeks! The day before my first meeting with Her Campus Oklahoma State chapter, I received an email I’d been wishing to receive for years, I was officially a campus trendsetter!
Now you might be wondering what exactly a campus trendsetter is and what being one entails. By partnering with the amazing company Her Campus, the greatest part is as a trendsetter you receive products from awesome companies such as L’Oréal, Dunkin Donuts, Milani Cosmetics, Ulta etc. Trendsetters have the opportunity to network with awesome boss babes, attend super cool events, and spread the word on what an awesome company Her Campus truly is! I absolutely love being a part of a community of women who are constantly supporting and bettering each other, and I can’t wait to continue writing articles and making videos for such an awesome company and group of women.
A little insight on what comes in packages for those of you like myself who had not received a PR package before- this particular package is a back to school care package. Working with L’Oreal, Milani Cosmentics, Steripod, Extra Gum, InnisFree and Her Campus; in the box we all received a XOXO cropped tee, face masks, lash paradise mascara, varied steripod containers, the new extra gum, and the cutest patches. As I shared with my subscribers; I can’t wait to try the face masks out! I’ve used steripods and love them, as well as the lash paradise mascara. It has the cutest packaging and is the greatest drug store mascara I’ve found! I hope you’ll check out my video and check out some of the awesome products I got to try out!
Overall I cant put into words, what a feeling it is to finally be able to have a sense of accomplishment in following your dreams. While to some it might be just a package, to myself it was a sense of finally putting into action something I’ve wanted to do for years. This year has been all about following my dreams, moving 15 hours from home to attend a college, switching majors, starting a YouTube channel, blogging more, joining Her Campus, and now being a Campus Trendsetter. So that’s it, that’s what it’s actually like to be a campus trendsetter! I can’t wait to share more as I work more and more with this great compnay!
