Summer to Fall Fashion Update

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at OK State chapter.

It’s official:  The weather is finally starting to cool down, has started and you’re ready to break out the tights, sweaters and military boots.  As soon as fall hits, many women have a desire to go shopping for a whole new wardrobe.
Not so fast, fashionista.  You don’t need to break your bank for the season change.  There are many summer staples that can be recycled in the fall.
If you aren’t ready to say goodbye to your favorite sundresses, pair them with brightly colored or black tights and strappy closed-toed heels.
Slip a cashmere sweater and skinny belt over your strapless mid-length dress for an instant professional look.
That flowy maxi skirt you’ve worn all summer?  Add a sweater and chunky jewelry for instant warmth.
For the ultimate summer wardrobe carryover, wear your favorite one-piece bathing suit with tailored pants and a blazer.  No one will ever know!
This casual transition from summer to fall won’t hurt your savings and will guarantee a refreshing look next to the boring coat and blue jeans that most girls on campus wear.

Becca is an Oklahoma State University fashion journalism student. After she graduates in December, she wants to work for British Vogue. She believes that although a $1,200 sundress looks fantastic on the runway, there are less expensive alternatives to looking fabulous. Knowing how to shop on a budget is a vital skill for every college woman. She has recently completed a life-changing study abroad experience in London and a visual merchandising internship at White House Black Market in Dallas. Becca wants to show the fashion world that you can look beautiful without breaking the bank.
