October 24 , 2015 was the mark of another famous Oklahoma State University Orange homecoming. Crowds lined the city to watch all of OSU’s Campus Life, and the Stillwater Community walk down Hall of Fame to show off their hard work through floats and other activites. Nobody knew that America’s Greastest Homecoming would becoming such a heart wrenching day in the small town of Stillwater. As the day went on things got harder, as more of our Cowboy family members passed away, or were fighting for their lives. The homecoming game was resumed and ended in a big victory, but our beautiful town was still in deep mourning over our loved ones.

A Vigil was held Sunday night to honor the ones we lost ,but also to pray for the ones holding on to their lives. That weekend will forever be remembered not only in Stillwater, but all across the state of Oklahoma.

As the following week progressed, the sun began to shine on Stillwater, Oklahoma as many of OSU’s athletic teams, campus orgainzations, and greek life groups began to raise money to support the families of those who were affected by this tragedy. The OSU Color Guard began to sell Orange Ribbons for $1 in front of Chi-O Clock everyday, and many others began t-shirt promotions to fund these families. Our OSU Football Team and Softball Team even payed a visit to some of the victims, along side President Burns Hargis, Oklahoma City Thunder’s Kevin Durant, and Miss Oklahoma herself.

As the weeks continue if you would like to fund these families there are many ways you can get involved!

The Color Guard Team will remain at Chi-O Clock during the week so that you will be able to make a donation,

but also you can go to these following links to purchase a T-Shirt where as all proceeds will go to the Cowboy families involved in the tragedy.       https://billz.universitytees.com/bird_banks/3711/signups/new  https://teespring.com/stillwater-strong

As our wonderful community heals, never forget the Cowboy spirit within, and always remember to Stay LOYAL, Stay TRUE, and Stay STILLWATER STRONG!
