Spring 2012 Rushes for New Sorority

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at OK State chapter.

Coming next semester, Oklahoma State will be having its thirtieth sorority on campus. The ladies of the Greek PanHellenic Council sent out invitations for others to come be a part of the Orange Nation.
With patience, and luck, Alpha Omicron Pi will be joining O-State in the spring. Tracey Ottey, a representative for AOPI, is very excited to get colonization ready for the ladies wishing to rush.
This is very exciting for not only Tracey, but for the girls as well. It will start a whole new legacy at OSU. Because this is starting in the spring, it will give tons of opportunities for those who could not rush before. Colonization will begin January 17-22 for all ladies.
The new sorority is looking for 191 new women to get things rolling. Plans for a house location and recruitment for future ladies is now going underway. Every sorority has a philanthropy, and Alpha Omicron Pi’s will be working with organizations that help fight arthritis.
Their colors are cardinal and the symbols of AOPi are a panda, a rose, and wheatgrass. They choose the panda, because it does not have any known enemies. The rose is a different kind of rose since it does not have any thorns, and the wheatgrass stands for being binded together.  This sorority revolves around lasting friendships and having fun and it will certainly have a place here at Oklahoma State!

Becca wants to show the fashion world that you can look beautiful without breaking the bank.
