How many times have you settled for walking into a Yankee Candle store and buying your mom, grandma or aunt yet another candle for Christmas?  And don’t get me wrong, I’m sure they are all thrilled about it.  But surprise her this Christmas with something different.
While in Grapevine, Texas, this past weekend, I stumbled into a little store called Scentchips.
“Scentchips is a family owned and operated business that began in 1979 in a quest to create a better candle product,” according to scentchips.com.  “What began as a small endeavor, has become a product that is now available all around the world. Our chips can always be recognized by the patented leaf and flower shapes we still use today.”

I am a huge fan of scents, so any time I see a whole store dedicated to them, I get pretty excited.  I’ve tried it all.  Candles.  Fragrance cubes.  Incense.  Burning oils.
Scentchips is very similar to the fragrance cubes, but I’ve found that the ones at Wal Mart and others can be extremely potent; and there aren’t many options.  Scentchips offers about 80 single fragrances, giving the option of hundreds of combinations.  But they also make premade mixes that are excellent.  I just bought the Christmas special and it is a mix of blue sprice, strawberry and cinnamon, and it is to die for.  Almost every mixture I smelled was sublime, including the single fragrances.  But there is a reason Scentchips is so much better than other fragrance waxes, and in my opinion, the best scents out there.
“Scentchips® strives to maintain our quality product by using only the highest quality materials of paraffin and soy waxes, natural fragrance oils, and non-toxic vegetable dyes,” according to its website.  “Scentchips are the strongest fragrance melts on the market because we use the highest ratio of oil to wax in the industry.”
The next best thing about Scentchips is the different options of what to put the chips in.  You can use an electric burner or a tea light burner. My favorite, however, are the electric plugins that are perfect for the bathroom.

These burners are all very beautiful and you can even get different themes for the holidays.
So, this Christmas, try something different and surprise your loved ones.  Order a couple mixes (or single fragrances if you prefer), a burner and a pack of tea lights or a replacement bulb and put together a great gift basket anyone would love!

Visit scentchips.com to order or find out if there’s a location near you!
