Ever buy a product from a drugstore only to find that it was a waste of money? Each month, I put multiple drugstore beauty products to the test to see if they do whatthey say they will.
These are my favorites for October:
Olay Ultra Moisture Body Wash -?This is an extremely rich body wash. It lathers very thick and rinses clean. I have extremely sensitive skin and this does not seem to irritate. With shea butter and a smell that lasts for hours, this is a great buy for those of you who love to pinch pennies.
Johnson’s Vanilla Oatmeal Baby Lotion -?Don’t judge before you try out this little wonder. I have been turning to baby products for years due to my sensitive skin. Johnson’s baby lotions come in very big bottles for a small price. The smell is completely fresh, clean and even playful. The lotion feels so light when you put it on and it sinks right into the skin. The scent lasts forever.

St. Ives Timeless Skin Collagen Elastin Facial Moisturizer – Don’t forget to moisturize! After a years worth of testing, this has become a product that I will buy over and over again. It’s light, smells great and gets the job done. You can also get a large tub for a really cheap price.
Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer in Raisin – Fall beauty trends are emphasizing jewel-toned lip color. Burt’s Bees is one of my favorite brands. This lip shimmer is very suitable for class or even nights out. The color is extremely sheer but can be layered for the perfect deep wine lip.
Maybelline XXL Curl Power Mascara – Another product that I will buy over and over again. After being disappointed by expensive department store brands, I turned to Maybelline for help. This is the only, I repeat, ONLY mascara that does what it says it will do. I always get compliments on how full and luscious my eyelashes look with this on. Magnifique!
Nivea A Kiss of Smoothness Hydrating Lip Care SPF 4 – I have multiple tubes of this in my backpack and makeup bag. Nivea’s lip balm has a nice crisp smell and goes on like butter. It’s great for protecting lips while walking to class in chilly weather.

Becca is an Oklahoma State University fashion journalism student. After she graduates in December, she wants to work for British Vogue. She believes that although a $1,200 sundress looks fantastic on the runway, there are less expensive alternatives to looking fabulous. Knowing how to shop on a budget is a vital skill for every college woman. She has recently completed a life-changing study abroad experience in London and a visual merchandising internship at White House Black Market in Dallas. Becca wants to show the fashion world that you can look beautiful without breaking the bank.
