Keep Spreading Love After Valentine’s Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at OK State chapter.

Although Valentine’s Day has become a holiday where many feel pressured to give the best, most Instagram-able gifts, Valentine’s Day is a great reminder to show the ones around you how much you love them. Now that Valentine’s Day has passed, though, we should still remember to spread love around.

Spread love wherever you go. Let no one come to you without leaving happier.

– Mother Teresa

Arguably the easiest way to spread love is to give compliments. Tell that girl you like her hair, or shirt, or whatever it is. If you like something, you should be more open and tell someone because it always feels nice to receive compliments and what you give to others really changes what you receive.

Another easy way to spread love is to reach out to people. If you have a friend you haven’t heard from lately, talk to them and catch up. This will show them that they are important to you. You could even be direct and send a message telling them how much they mean to you. If you don’t tell friends or family how much you love them very often, Valentine’s Day is a great reminder to do that, but it shouldn’t be the only time you spread love around. You can never run out of love to give.
