Twitter has blown up with people who can’t get enough of the new album by The Weeknd, titled “Beauty Behind The Madness”. This collegiate is one of the people obsessed with the music, and I immediately related to the music. Here are everyday college situations as explained by songs from “Beauty Behind The Madness”.

When your SO won’t commit as told by “Real Life”

With lyrics proclaiming “every woman that loved me… I seemed to push them away” it’s easy to feel like the girl getting the short end of the stick. Just like in the song, the person pushing you away is the one being destructive. Just like the song says though, “I heard love is a risk worth taking” you shouldn’t necessarily rule anything out when it comes to your significant other. Just don’t wait so long that you’re ruining your own happiness.

Getting caught up in a Relationship as told by “Can’t Feel My Face”

It’s hard to let go of relationships that going anywhere because of how much fun the good times are. “Can’t Feel My Face” has a chorus that perfectly sums up the feeling of getting lost in a relationship. “I can’t feel my face when I’m with you, but I love it”. Just don’t get too caught up in the fun and forget that a relationship needs more than just a physical connection. After all, “The misery was necessary when we’re deep in love”.

The “Dark Times” of College

For a lot of collegiettes there will come a time in school when things don’t go your way. Whether that be failing an important exam, or not getting the internship you wanted. Or even much worse situations like losing a family member, or friendships ending. “Dark Times” ranges across all these situations. “Drunk too much, you know what I’m like” for those hungover mornings. “This ain’t the right time for you to fall in love with me” may seem like a pretty harsh line, but the truth is most collegiettes are still growing as people, and serious relationships aren’t more harmful than not. Just remember “…my mother can love me for me, in my dark times”.

Growing up and discovering yourself, “Tell Your Friends”

The song starts out with the most simple of lines, “We are not the same I am too reckless”. In college there are people of varying personalities and interests. It’s fun to get involved with people who have different interests because it allows you to grow as a person. As you go through college you will find success and grow into yourself and your dreams. By the time you reach your senior year it’ll be “This year I’m all focused on the vision” and “I miss my city man it’s been a minute”. It’s all worth it though, when you grow up and accomplish the things you’ve been working towards.

The Weeknd’s album has 14 songs and all of them have been on repeat for this collegiette. If you’ve been reading all the Tweets about his music, and if you’ve already listened to the album, then you know just how relatable the songs are.
