Oooooo, spooky season is right around the corner! But all of your friends have their costumes picked, except you… Donât worry, I gotcha. Around this time every year, I am scrambling through Pinterest, TikTok, and Instagram looking for any costume ideas I can find.
If you are like me and also scrambling to find a costume, here are some simple and basic ideas for you!
Insect/Bug: Every year, I always find someone who is some sort of bug, and it is always the cutest costume. You could wear a simple black skirt, buy a basic-colored T-shirt, and paint some spots or dots on it to match the insect. You could even add some wings or antennae to make it extra recognizable. It is classic but very cute!
Princess: This could be as specific or non-specific as you would like. It might take a few extra accessories to match a specific princess, but besides the extras, all you really need is a skirt, a basic corset, and a tiara or crown. You could even pick a princess based on the colors of clothes you already have!
Animal: This is my favorite option because there are so many different animals you could choose from. Throw on a pair of ears from Amazon, and boom, youâre an animal! A cat, bunny, cow, bear, or even a mouse can be super easy to put together with clothes you already own.
Hero: Supergirl, Wonder Woman, Catwomanâyou name it! These costumes are usually found as store-bought costumes, or you can find your own clothes that match the color scheme of your favorite hero. You donât even have to dress up exactly like the character. Just matching their colors and adding a few accessories can make the costume recognizable.
Classics: Witch, black cat, zombieâyou can never go wrong with the classics. As a kid, I kid you not, I was a black cat for three years in a row, and each year it was a hit. For a zombie or a witch, splat on some green face paint, add some simple costume makeup, and youâre ready for show business!
Ghost: This one is probably one of the easiest costumes you can make. Grab a white sheet, cut out some eye holes, and youâre done! If you want to make it a little more fun, throw on some sunglasses or add a cute accessory.
Vampire: A vampire is another easy classic. All you really need is a black outfit, some red lipstick, and fake vampire fangs. Want to add a little extra flair? Use some fake blood and costume makeup to complete the look. It’s simple, spooky, and you’re ready to go!
Barbie: Have a pink outfit sitting in your closet? Congratulations, you are now your very own Barbie! Add some pink accessories, shoes, or makeup, and you have a super easy costume without having to buy a whole outfit.
Hopefully, these ideas help you find a costume before Halloween sneaks up on you. Whether you want to be a bug, princess, animal, hero, or one of the classics, there are so many costumes you can put together without spending a ton of money or time. Happy spooky season! đ»đ
