If you haven’t noticed that campus has been inundated with mothers and fathers since Friday afternoon, take note fellow Bobcats, it’s that time of year… Parents Weekend at OU!
Besides walking around Court Street and campus in general, there are plenty of activities scheduled to bond with Ma and Pa over. First of all, start your weekend off right at the Parents Breakfast in Baker Center’s Ballroom for just $12 per person (tickets can be purchased online); there will be a seating at 9:30 a.m. and another one at 10:30 a.m. in addition to raffle opportunities and a performance courtesy of OU’s vocal ensemble “New Chords on the Block.”
On Saturday afternoon, the OU football team will be fighting for a third consecutive victory this season against the Austin Peay Governors from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee. The game will start at 2:00 p.m. at Peden Stadium.
Or maybe sports aren’t your thing so much. For the artsy crowd, there will be Gallery tours led by museum student staff members at the Kennedy Museum of Art (located in Lin Hall) from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday.
If none of those are your cup of tea, the Athena Theater will be showing the comedy classic Monty Python and the Holy Grail all weekend long at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Looking for some more laughs with Mom and Dad? Second City Improv is making an appearance at Mem-Aud Saturday night at 8:00 p.m. (all tickets are $18 each– that means you too, students!)
Hopefully at least one of these events sparks your interest, but if not, your folks will most likely enjoy just spending quality time with their lovely son or daughter! Go Bobcats!
