Nightmare Before Christmas (Costume!)

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Ohio U chapter.

Halloween is upon us and if you haven’t thought of any costume ideas yet, I’ve got a funny one for you. Yeah, yeah, I know that it’s Halloween and you’re supposed to dress according to the holiday, but I’ve got a better idea: for all you students who don’t want to wait another two months, let’s bring Christmas to Halloween!

Idea #1: Mrs. Claus Costume

All you need for this is a red dress, black belt, black boots, stockings (optional) and a Santa hat and you’re pretty much there! Don’t forget some sparkles to spice it up and make it your own.

Idea #2: The Elf

For an elf, you mainly need to focus on a green/red dress, a belt (optional), stockings with pointed shoes (boots or heels) and the perfect elf/Santa hat! Accessorize with some bells to make the perfect elf costume.

Idea #3: The Christmas Tree

This is my favorite. Find a green dress and buy some cheap, small ornaments and just hang them as well as you can. Take a headband and glue a gold star to it. Grab some gold tinsel, cute heels/boots and fishnets/stockings for the cutest look!

Idea #4: The Reindeer

This could be as simple as a cute brown/white skirt and top paired with furry boots and antlers, or you can go all out and do the deer face paint, and add extra cuteness like bows!

Idea 5: The Snowman

Find a tight or flow-y white dress, add some black-looking buttons down the middle. Top it with cute white/gray stockings or fishnets, a super cute red scarf (optional) and a black/red top hat— you’ve got yourself a costume!

And last but not least…

Idea 6: The Present

Make it as revealing as you want, but all you need for this one is really a whole bunch of your favorite Christmas wrapping paper! Some bows, tinsel and cute heels finish off the look!

If you’re anything like me, Christmas is the best holiday of the year. Halloween isn’t too bad, but if you can have two-in-one, why not? Go for it, girls! Happy Halloween (Christmas!)
