MTV’s “Awkward” Returns with Even More Drama

Warning: SPOILER ALERT

“Jenna..WHAT ARE YOU DOING?”

This was the question I’m sure many “Awkward” enthusiasts (myself included) were asking as the show returned on Tuesday, October 22.

Picking up right where the show left off when it was last aired, we see the growing tension between Jenna (Ashley Rickards) and Collin (Nolan Funk). The two are obviously attracted to each other, as the audience witnessed them kiss at the end of the first half of Season 3. It happens again in this episode, despite Jenna’s efforts to put the affair to an end.

After witnessing Jenna and Collin’s passion firsthand, Tamara (Jillian Rose Reed) is left burdened with the secret. She doesn’t deal with stress well, and stuffing her face with sandwiches to keep from spilling Jenna’s mistake isn’t a tactic that will work for very long.

Although there was a lot of drama going on in “Awkward” this week, a few heart-warming moments happened as well. Ming (Jessica Lu) and her honey Fred Wu (Kelly Sry) were happily reunited. Fred will have to put up with Ming’s newfound power as the head of the Asian Mafia, but it’s a price he’s willing to pay for the woman he loves. At least one couple has it together!

No matter what Jenna and Collin do to avoid each other, they can’t seem to stay away. They lock lips in the car, the hallway…and eventually right in front of Jenna’s family and friends, including her beloved Matty (Beau Mirchoff). Extremely awkward, if you ask me.

It’s obvious this is going to be a roller coaster
of a season right from the start. Who will Jenna choose? Are we going to see a fight between Matty and Collin? Will Sadie (Molly Tarlov) ever change her evil ways? And most importantly, are you Team Matty or Team Collin?! I’m gonna have to go with Matty, at least for now.

Let’s hear your thoughts in the comments!
