8 Cruelty-Free Beauty Products You Need to Have

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Ohio U chapter.
For all my girls out there who are fellow animal lovers, this one’s for you! For the past year, I have started researching and only buying beauty products that don’t test on animals. Many of you might think these products are hard to find, but in reality, they are not! These are some of my favorite products—and they’re all cruelty-free!

1. Urban Decay Naked Palettes

Who doesn’t love what Urban Decay’s cult-favorite palettes have to offer? Aside from the fact that each rendition of the palette features gorgeous colors, this product is also cruelty-free!

2. Summer’s Eve Cleansing Wash

Not many body washes are for women only, so it’s nice to see one that’s made just for us. It’s pH-balancing which makes it perfect for lady areas that can’t be washed with normal body wash. This is not the only product you can buy; all of Summer’s Eve products are good for the planet!

3. Bath & Body Works bodycare

Bath and Body Works has a huge, huge selection of fragrances—you’re sure to find one you love. If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably stocked up on tons and tons of bottles every time they have an amazing deal going on (…which is all the time, right?). Bonus: Their products aren’t tested on animals.

4. E.L.F Makeup

Perfect for the girl on a budget, all of E.L.F’s products are priced at around $1.00—and even more importantly, they are cruelty free! So instead of buying one tube of mascara for $7.00, you can buy 7 things from E.L.F for the same price, while keeping our furry friends happy!

5. Skindinavia No More Shine Makeup Setting Spray

Perfect for the girl with oily skin, this makeup spray keeps your makeup in place all day long and prevents the dreaded shiny look. Spray it on a few times before and after your makeup, and your face will still look new by the end of the day!

6. LUSH Cosmetics

LUSH Cosmetics offers a variety of natural, hand-made beauty products. They have everything from shampoos to shaving creams to deodorant. Everything also comes in a ton of unique scents, including some of our favorites, like “Back to Breakfast” and “Vanilla Dee-lite.” They don’t test their products on animals—and they won’t work with companies that do, either.

7. Organix haircare

The Organix line of shampoo and conditioner keeps your hair soft and healthy, with different collections made for different hair types. The product is made with natural ingredients like argan oil, ginseng and cocnut milk.

8. Burt’s Bees beauty & skincare

Burt’s Bees chapstick is perfect for preventing and soothing chapped lips. The brand’s lip products go on very smoothly, and keep your lips hydrated all day long. All of their products are, on average, 99 percent natural, and they use ingredients that contain vitamins to help keep lips healthy.
