Everyone who has ever met me can agree- I spend way too much time at the thrift store. Whether it’s a trip to Goodwill or a local resale shop, I never truly know what I will come home with. And while this remains an absolute mystery, one thing is for certain- there are always thrift trends surfacing. With that being said, I’d like to provide a list of fashionable thrift trends you can look out for (and rock) this fall!

Funky sweaters

You can not go wrong with a wacky patterned chunky sweater. There’s an automatic guarantee that you will be comfortable, warm, and stand out in a crowd. With a wide range of colors and styles of knitwear, they are one of my favorite things to thrift.

Chunky boots/shoes

Whether it be vintage Dr. Marten’s or 90s Sketchers, I love chunky/platform boots or shoes! Thrifting shoes can be hard, but if you get your hands on a pair of these shoes that are your size, you struck gold!

Patchwork

Thrift stores are a great place to find unique pieces. There is a lot of handmade items that find their way to the racks of second-hand stores. This means- patchwork! Whether someone put a patch over a hole in their jeans or specifically made an entire bag out of patches, these pieces are undeniably adorable and fall-festive!

Baggy ’90s jeans

Baggy skater-style jeans are back and better than ever. These ’90s boyfriend style jeans can be dressed up with a stylish top and cute boots, or used as a casual outfit with a t-shirt and tennis shoes. Bonus if the jeans have fun patterns or have even been painted on!

Slip Dresses

While slip dresses are lightweight and great for summertime, they are also great for layering! Throw a turtle neck on under and pair it with tights, boots, and a flannel and you have yourself a perfect fall look. Slip dresses have been around forever, so there are so many available to thrift! Whether you find yourself a cute lacey nightgown or even a cowl neck dress, it will become a staple in your closet!

Thrifting is a wonderful way to remain sustainable and fashionable without breaking the bank. At the end of the day, shop for what you feel most comfortable in! While I never know what I’ll come home with, every piece is guaranteed to be unique. So, don’t be afraid to express yourself through your one-of-a-kind find. Happy thrifting!
