To the graduating senior who doesn’t know what’s next,

As we stand on the threshold of uncertainty, facing the daunting question of “what’s next,” I want to take a moment to offer some words of encouragement and reassurance from someone who is experiencing the same thing.

It is completely normal to feel anxious about the future and not have all the answers right now, especially when you are about to start a new chapter of your life and say goodbye to the old one; filled with fun, late-night study sessions and not-so-great dining hall food. It’s okay to feel sad about it, but always remember that you are lucky to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.

You are not alone in this journey. Countless others have walked this path of uncertainty before you, and many will continue to do so long after. Continue to lean on your support system—friends and family— at the end of the day they will always be there for you and be ready to lend a hand no matter what the future holds.

Try to embrace the unknown with an open heart and an open mind (I know this is hard sometimes). While it may feel scary, it is important to approach this period of uncertainty with a sense of curiosity and optimism. See it as an opportunity to explore new possibilities, discover hidden passion, and start a course that is uniquely yours.

Trust in your abilities and believe in yourself. You have already overcome countless challenges and obstacles to reach this point and possess the strength, resilience, and determination to overcome whatever lies ahead. Have faith in your journey and know that you are capable of achieving great things as you are way stronger than you may think!

To the college senior who is unsure of what to do next, embrace this moment of uncertainty as an opportunity for growth, self-discovery, and transformation. The journey ahead may be unclear, but trust me, some of your best days are yet to come, and you have not yet met all the people who will love you!

Xoxo,
