Heartbreaker – Patrick Droney

Happy Valentine’s Day week to all my lovely ladies who are celebrating with their significant others! As for the rest of us, don’t forget to celebrate Galentines Day on the 13th, and overindulge on rom-coms, donuts and chocolate, and lots of girlie activities such as masks and mani/pedis. I promise it’s a good time.

Besides watching The Notebook and A Walk to Remember on repeat, if you’re like me, you also love to make playlists full of “should have deleted out of my iTunes” music that you only pull out during this time to acknowledge your “singledom”. A top favorite of mine is “Bleeding Love” by Leona Lewis. Shame? I have none.

But this year, I got lucky and discovered a new song that I get to add to my revamped playlist. It’s a little song called “Heartbreaker” by singer/songwriter Patrick Droney. Did I mention he’s super adorable and 19? Yes ladies, I said that. But let’s focus now.

Droney’s new single drops on Valentine’s Day and you should 100% let it be your new anthem of 2012. This pop-rock song is a catchy tune that should motivate you to move on with your life and not go back and make bad mistakes. Mistakes such as going back to your ex because you’re lonely, or eating that last pint of Ben&Jerrys in the fridge. Just don’t do it!

Rather, put this song on repeat this Tuesday (or every Tuesday if you are up to it) – You’ll find yourself singing along to the easy chorus, “I wanted to say/baby you’re a heartbreak/and you’re never gonna break me.”

Though this song is extremely catchy and I catch myself humming the pre-chorus’ na na na’s under my breath without a care in the world, I would like to have seen more of Droney’s guitar skills highlighted as well. After all, if you have talent, there is no harm in showing off every once in a while right?

Want more Patrick? His EP is going to be released on March 27th. Finally, we get to see how Droney has progressed while he has been hidden away, conjuring new songs to pull on your heart strings ladies.  Don’t act like you don’t enjoy it.

But for now, be sure to buy the single in iTunes, follow him on twitter, facebook, and check him out here.

That Annoying Song You Can’t Get Out of Your Head

Rack City – Tyga

At first, I was feeling this song. So hard. But that was before I couldn’t stop saying “ten ten ten twenties and them fifties b****” and pronouncing my hundreds as “hunnids”. Thanks Tyga.
