Hello November! And hello, a much needed wardrobe refresh. This month, it doesn’t take a whole lot to switch up your look. Sometimes all it takes is one new piece or one new layer that you can add to your outfits for colder weather. You’ll be warmer and you’ll be stylish! Here are some of the major trends for this month that can work for class, nights out, or lazy days!

Blazers:

You might have seen your favorite insta influencers wearing them or you may see them on the street more often, but blazers are really having a moment. They’re a great layering piece for chillier temperatures, but they can also take your outfit up a step in both style and professionalism. It’s the perfect blend of business chic and casual. Want to look professional for class without wearing a pantsuit or a blazer set? Get your favorite jeans, black boots, and layer on a blazer over your favorite graphic tee shirt.

Bicycle Shorts:

Bike shorts are SO comfortable. I love pairing them with a crew neck sweatshirt and my favorite white sneakers for a comfy look for class. They’re also great workout gear, or the perfect option for laying in bed and watching Netflix in my personal opinion. Basically, they can do everything.

Headbands:

Headbands can upgrade any outfit, and if you get it one in a beautiful fall color it can take a classic black and white ensemble up a notch. The beauty of headbands is they get your hair out of your face without any work required. Easy, chic, and bold. Sign me up.

Sherpa:

I love the Sherpa trend because it means I can truly be in the comfiest state I can possibly be in. I want sherpa everything! It’s soft, fuzzy, and upgrades an outfit’s texture game. I also love that sherpa jackets can be dressed up or down. Wear them with a dress underneath on a chilly day, or pair them with your favorite pair of leggings and sneakers for a comfortable outfit for class.

Midi Skirts:

This summer I went to Paris and saw every stylish Parisian wearing silk midi skirts styled in so many ways, and I’ve seen them more and more here in New York. I’ve seen them styled with a classic crop top to let the skirt itself stand out or juxtaposed with a vintage graphic tee. I’ve even seen them pulled off with a sweatshirt…ah, Parisian style. My personal favorite combination I’ve seen is a silk midi skirt (like the one shown below) with a graphic tee, layered necklaces, and heels for a night out on the town.

Just a note before you buy new pieces for this month: Whenever I want to refresh my wardrobe, I try to get rid of a piece before I acquire more clothes. Whether that means donating clothes that don’t fit me anymore or that I haven’t worn in too many months, or selling them on an online platform like Poshmark, it’s always a good idea to remember that the clothes you’re no longer wearing can help someone else out. Happy wardrobe updating!
