These Are the 9 Best Holiday Drink and Dessert Recipes from Pinterest

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at NYU chapter.

The holidays are always the best time of the year to spend in the kitchen. On days when you don’t feel like leaving your home or going out to parties, you can definitely stay snuggled up and make some scrumptious desserts and drinks. Ever since Pinterest was launched, people have really been stepping up their holiday cooking game. So, here’s a list of some of the tastiest Pinterest recipes to try out this holiday season! Let’s get cooking!

Drinks

1. Slow Cooker Cranberry Apple Cider

My two favorite things: cranberry juice and hot apple cider all rolled into one heavenly drink full of warmth. What could be a more festive drink? Not to mention, it’s incredibly easy to make and quick too–perfect for a group of friends.

2. The Grinch Punch

Relive your childhood through this green Grinch Punch, a mix of crisp Kool-Aid, pineapple juice, and lemonade. A fruity and tasty beverage, this Grinch Punch won’t disappoint. Its bright red and green colors are also classic for the holidays.

3. Pink Grapefruit and Pomegranate Soda

First off, who doesn’t appreciate a sparkly fancy pink soda?  With just the perfect amount of fizz, this berry sweet (pun intended) soda will leave you feeling satisfied and sophisticated.

4. Caramel Apple Mimosas

And for our older readers, these smooth caramel apple mimosas will be perfect. The name itself says so much; caramel apples, aka the best fall treat, put into a drink, with some booze- what’s better than that?

Desserts

5. Festive Puppy Chow

Probably one of my favorite holiday recipes of all time is Puppy Chow. It’s super easy to prepare, lasts days, and tastes like rich chocolatey heaven. To make it Christmas themed, all you need to do is add in some red and green sprinkles or M&Ms, and voila!

6. Red Velvet Banana Bread

There is just something so special about the taste of banana bread and red velvet mixed into one fluffy bread. To add, it’s delicately drizzled with white chocolate and festive sprinkles– a cult classic.

7. Peppermint Candy Cane Cookies

For those of you, who don’t particularly like peppermint candy and feel left out, these cookies are perfect for you! They have just the slightest hint of a fresh mint, and mostly taste like regular buttery sugar cookies. Not to mention, they make absolutely adorable decorations.

8. Spiced Cupcakes with Cinnamon Cream Cheese Frosting

Cinnamon is most definitely a signature ingredient to any holiday dessert. These moist and dense cupcakes taste amazing, with creamy apple butter and milky cinnamon cream cheese frosting.

9. S’mores Frozen Hot Chocolate

Can’t get to Serendipity 3 in time for the holiday’s? Make your own frozen hot chocolate at home, but with a twist–this one tastes like S’mores! Frozen hot chocolate is an awesome holiday dessert and will be sure to give you that cozy fireside feel when you’re snuggled up at home.
