With the warmer spring months comes the ability to shed those bulky down jackets, bright sunshine that doesn’t actually reflect off of mounds of snow, and a new season of shows opening on Broadway. Spring 2011 brings about some revivals of old favorites, as well as some newly-penned original pieces. Here is a preview of what to look out for in the upcoming months as well as their (tentative) opening nights!

How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (March 27, 2011):
Harry Potter. Isn’t that reason enough? If seeing everyone’s favorite boy wizard live and in person performing on stage isn’t the clincher for you, then maybe the cute storyline of this older story will cause you to buy some tickets. Daniel Radcliffe plays J. Pierrepont Finch, a window cleaner hoping to climb the ranks on the corporate ladder without much effort on his part. Along the way, he meets a secretary who he learns he has a lot in common with: they both love J. Pierrepont Finch. Will Finch learn to love someone other than himself while also finding his dream job?
Anything Goes (April 7, 2011):

American heading to England from New York City. After comedic farce ensues, will long-lost lovers reunite? Will Moonface Martin the gangster avoid the authorities? And can Evangeline Harcourt maintain her social status as the debutante she hopes to always be?
Catch Me If You Can (April 10, 2011):

Whether as a pilot, a doctor, an attorney, or a parish prosecutor; Frank always manages to elude the police and evade the law. But will the arrival of a young nurse finally set his life straight?
Wonderland (April 17, 2011): This is no Disney tale. Alice is no longer a seven-year old girl falling down a rabbit hole. Now she’s all grown up and with a child of her own.
Yet the stress of her ending marriage, strained relationship with her child, and struggles with her career as an author find her back in Wonderland again this time to rescue her missing daughter Chloe who has attempted to find refuge in Wonderland. Featuring an entirely original score, as well as the familiar slew of characters, Alice must figure out how to piece her life back together and get herself back on track.
Baby, It’s You (April 27, 2011):
New Jersey housewife Florence Greenberg was sick and tired of her monotonous day-to-day life. So what better way to spice things up then to start a music label, Scepter Records and create the hottest pop band of the 1960s The Shirelles?! Filled with popular music from the 1960s, Baby, It’s You is great for fans of other historically based musicals such as Million Dollar Quartet.
The People in the Picture (April 28, 2011):
Starring NYU alum Donna Murphy, The People in the Picturetells the story of Bubbie, once the star of the Yiddish Theatre world in pre-war Poland, she is now living a subdued life in New York City. And while her granddaughter is fascinated by her life tales, her daughter is willing to do whatever it takes to keep the past the past. Combining comedy with moving life lessons, The People in the Picture shows the never-ending ties and bonds of family and heritage.
