If you’ve been following the lastest trends from the runway to the red carpet, then you know that menswear is one of the biggest go-to looks of the season.
Her Campus NYU has scoured the best and trendiest menswear pieces that you must incorporate into your wardrobe this fall!  Check them out below:

The Blazer: Bid goodbye to your long trench coats and instead opt for a wool blazer to keep warm as the chilly weather approaches.  Create the perfect fall outfit for those autumn strolls through Central Park by wearing this grey wool blazer from J.Crew over a lightweight sweater in deep red or burnt orange.  Pair with shorts, tights, and combat boots to be comfortable and stylish, and even layer a light vest to finish your look. Don a crocheted beanie, grab a coffee, and you’ll be a true New Yorker.  ($188)

The Plaid Flannel Shirt: Who ever said women can’t shop in the men’s section?Build enough courage and venture over to the men’s department at Express to purchase their version of a flannel paid shirt in either crimson or a jewel print. Make sure to invest in flannel for the chilly weather. Buy it oversized, belt it, and wear over black tights and your favorite pair of black boots, either heeled or combat. To create a more feminine look, wear as a lightweight jacket over a tight-fitting top and a body-conscious pencil skirt.  ($69.90)

The Suit: Whether you’re heading to work or trying to impress your boss on an internship, be on the lookout for a formal suit a la Leighton Meester and Ashley Olsen.  Opt for navy instead of the classic black to stand out while still appearing professional.  Don’t stick to the ubiquitous pencil skirt; instead, go for slim-fitting trousers to elongate the legs.  Comfort is key, so you’ll want to be able to move your legs freely with all of the walking done in the city.  To look feminine while clad in the suit, style with the hair down and a pair of sexy pumps. If you’re feeling bold and want to make a statement like Leighton Meester, throw in a simple grey tie.   ($198 for the blazer $98 for the pants)

The Oxford Shoe:  Making a comeback is the classic oxford shoe reminiscent of Annie Hall and the 70s.  For a New York guise, obtain a pair of oxfords to add a quick and subtle masculine touch to your outfit. Available in flats, wedges, and heels, the oxford shoe can easily find a place in your closet.  Wear with a feminine dress or your menswear-inspired outfit.  For those lazy days, don a pair of the classic flats.  When feeling confident, add height by sporting a pair of wedges or heels.  ($148.41)

The Vest: We’re all jealous of Kate Moss and her effortless ability to create the perfect menswear look.  A quick and easy way to add a hint of masculinity to your outfit is to don a vest, like Urban Outfitter’s option, offered in camel or light grey. For a bohemian vibe, wear with a long-sleeved shirt, shorts, and a pair of boots.  Feeling more feminine? Layer over a floral-print dress to mix patterns while not looking too girly. Pair with those oxford heels from ASOS for the ideal outfit.  ($29.99)

The Suspenders: Rest assured, you too can rock some suspenders. Either purchase a set, in either black or grey from Urban Outfitters, or hunt for a romper with suspenders already connected.  Wear over a lace top to mix girly with masculine, or wear over a classic white button-down for chicness and simplicity. For a more professional vibe, wear with a pair of high-waisted trousers and that white button-down for a day at the office.  ($20)
