Christmas time is my favorite time of the year. At my house, we turn our fireplace on every night, listen to Christmas music religiously, and we go all out on gifts. In my experience, buying presents for my family has proven to be a relatively easy task, but the one person I seem to struggle with is the person I know best – my boyfriend.
Perhaps it’s just the perfectionist in me or the over-achiever, but every year I want to get him something even more extravagant and spectacular than the year before. With that said, I pull my hair out every year trying to think what would put a smile on his face.
Luckily, I compiled a list of presents for your significant other (regardless of gender) that are sure to make them feel warm and cozy inside.
Slippers
One item everyone should get their baes at some point is a pair of nice slippers. I own a pair of ugg slippers that I wear every single day of my life. They’re like a second skin to me. Whenever they go missing, I know exactly where to look — my boyfriend’s feet! He tends to steal them more often than I’d like, so why not get him his own pair? Ugg offers a wide range of unisex slippers that are sure to be a great gift to your love and most importantly- their feet.
Skincare
They say that a loved body is one that utilizes the practice of self-care. I’m not exactly sure who they are, but I can firmly agree that self-care is one of the most important forms of self-love. As someone who loves skincare, I enjoy sharing my knowledge on how to protect delicate skin from aging and cancer. And my boyfriend doesn’t know the difference between toner and retinol. By putting together a kit with moisturizer, SPF, cleanser, toners, etc. and teaching him how to use them, he learned how to take care of his skin and treat it the way it should be treated. While this gift isn’t any electronic gadget, it can be expensive and a luxury for many people. A skincare kit definitely makes for an outside-of-the-box, valuable gift.
Apple Watch/Airpods
This gift option may seem redundant or not necessarily unique, but you can’t really go wrong with an Apple product as a gift. I have both AirPod Pros and an Apple Watch that I’m obsessed with. They always come in handy, especially with the world being online now. When in doubt, Apple it out!
Cologne/Perfume
Another easy gift is perfume or cologne. I personally love buying my boyfriend cologne because it means I get to pick how he smells for the next year. I love the smell of a rich, masculine cologne and so whenever the time comes to buy him a new one, I get super excited. If you have a thing for the smell of cologne or perfume like I do, I highly recommend splurging on a good scent for your partner in crime.
DIY
There’s nothing wrong with a sentimental Pinterest arts and craft gift. A couple years back, I used ModgePodge to paste a bunch of pictures of me and my boyfriend on a giant cut out of his initial and I loved the way it turned out. It was a unique and sentimental gift that I made all by myself. There’s something special about giving your loved ones a gift made from your own hands, it can be a lot more meaningful than a store-bought present.
Tickets to a Show
While COVID has taken the ability for a lot of us to go see a live show, there is no harm in purchasing two tickets for a drive-in concert/movie or show scheduled for a later date. My boyfriend and I are expecting to see comedian, Andrew Shultz, in 2021. While that date is not certain, we both hope that it’ll come sooner than we think and it’s definitely something for the both of us to look forward to.
Shopping Spree!
If you’ve read all these suggestions and still can’t seem to think of anything, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with a small shopping spree at your significant other’s favorite store. I wouldn’t be mad if my man let me go wild at LuluLemon for Christmas by any means! So, if you have rattled your brain and still just don’t know, a shopping spree wouldn’t make anyone sad.
As you can see, there are so many gifts, large and small, that will make your love smile this Christmas. Stress shouldn’t be on the agenda this time of the year, and I hope that these gift ideas alleviate it for you all.
