BIC, the French manufacturing company known for their pens and lighters, launched their new EasyRinse razor, made with anti-clogging technology for the 92 percent of people experiencing clogged razors. To launch their new endeavor, BIC hosted a “Great Spring Unclog” event in NYC – which Her Campus NYU attended – on the first day of spring, with their two celebrity ambassadors: Emmy Award-winning actress Annie Murphy and comedian Eric Andre.

Throughout the event were experimental shower stalls, where consumers joined in the shaving fun along with three different stations. The “Shower Stall” station, pictured below, gave consumers a chance to take pictures with Murphy and Andre, an opportunity BIC provided to interact with the faces of their new razors. I had such a fun time talking to both of them while also learning all about the EasyRinse razor.

BIC’s EasyRinse razor has a first-of-its-kind reverse blade design that allows consumers to shave against the hair growth. It is also the first razor to offer anti-clog technology as its primary benefit.

“With spring cleaning right around the corner, I’m ready to go bonkers and unclog my life,” Murphy said. “I could start with my kitchen, my bedroom, my bathroom, my living room, or my dining room, but starting small is better, so I’ll start – and let’s be honest, probably end – with my razor.”

Andre also shared a candid reason for using the EasyRinse razor. “I’ve been unclogging and sharing my truth since day one,” he said. “So obviously, I was down to use a razor that does the same…It’s about time everybody started living the smooth life.”

After taking pictures with the ambassadors, consumers could indulge in the “Unclog Your Shave” station where they could test out the new razor’s benefits with the help of BIC’s licensed estheticians. Their slogan, “All shave and no clog,” was very clear at that station.

The event also offered a “Build a Shave Bar” for people who wanted to take home the EasyRinse razor tucked inside a personalized bag in partnership with It’s By Sam, a customized corporate gifting company. Their colorful, sleek and high-quality bags fit perfectly with the atmosphere the company created. Right after receiving my monogrammed bag, I immediately wanted to take a picture – it’s so pretty and a perfect size for travel!

Needless to say, I highly recommend the EasyRinse razor – it’s flipping the script on the traditional thinking that more blades result in a better shave. The razor is already available for purchase

To those who were unable to experience the fun IRL, you can still take advantage of BIC’s EasyRinse razor campaign by texting Murphy and Andre a message at 1-802-BIC-TEXT, where you will have the chance to win an EasyRinse shaving kit until April 19. One lucky person who shares their unclogged truth will have the chance to win $10,000.

Special thanks to Stephanie Perry, Taylor Gerard and Amanda Cohen from M Booth for inviting us to the Great Spring Unclog Event. I got the chance to not only meet Annie Murphy and Eric Andre, but I also got to represent HCNYU at such a big PR event. This is definitely an event I will remember. I can’t wait to start living my unclogged truth with the EasyRinse razor!
