9 Best Spots to Instagram in NYC

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at NYU chapter.

Going to college in New York City is an amazing and unique opportunity. While most of our high school friends have been confined to college campuses, we are exploring all that this amazing city has to offer. With these experiences comes some photo ops that are begging to be posted. There is nothing wrong with a little subtle bragging. If you are anything like me, you are always on the lookout for your next Instagram post. Here are a few of my favorites:

1. Rooftop Party

Frat parties at NYU are definately not traditional. It’s very possible that you will spend your Saturday night on a rooftop with an amazing view of the Empire State Building…how could you not post this?

2. Late Night Pizza

This is the type of instagram that everybody can relate to–there is nothing more satisfying than dollar pizza after a long night out. Posting a picture like this also gives you the opportunity to show off your super cute going-out outfit you had been planning all week.

3. Brunch

Brunch in New York City is the absolute best and deserves to be photographed. Posting a well composed shot of your delicious meal on a Sunday morning will guarantee all of your hungover and hungry friends will be liking your picture from their beds.

4. Tompkins Square Bagels

New York City bagels are a phenomenon that one can not understand until they try them. Tompkins Square Bagels taste amazing and are cheesy enough to be worthy of NYC’s hottest food blogs.

5. View From Your Dorm Room

While not all of us end up being this lucky, NYU dorm rooms are often worthy of being multimillion dollar apartments. For example, the views from the top floors of Lafayette are something that can’t be beat.

6. Washington Square Park

I don’t think it is possible to graduate from NYU without posting a picture of this arch at least once. Whether it is from the ground or the top floors of Kimmel, this arch is an NYU landmark that is important to all of us.

7. Central Park

Fall in Central Park is gorgeous. While it can seem like a hike from campus, it is impossible to regret making the trip once you step foot in the park. Go for the Instagram, stay for the views.

8. Street Murals

Amazing wall art can be found all over NYC and the murals are just begging for you to pose in front of them.

9. Brooklyn Bridge

Skylines this beautiful are sure to rack up tons of likes. Brooklyn may seem far away, but this picture will have you feeling instafamous in no time.

Erin is a senior and former Campus Correspondent at NYU studying Comparative Literature and Music. On most days, you can find her at local coffee shops or cafés with her nose in a book. When she's not falling in love with fictional characters, she's blogging away on her lifestyle blog. If Erin is "busy", she is either in choir rehearsal or thinking of creative ways to conquer the literary world.
