The month of Ramadan has come upon us. And while the month has many festivities, food is a crucial part of the observance. Suhoor and Iftar are the two principal everyday feasts. And while there are numerous meals people eat for their fasts, it can get hard to have variety in the food we eat. Especially for college students who may not always have access to multiple appliances. If you’re looking for recipes that can bring some change without compromising taste or nutrition, here’s seven dorm-friendly recipes to try out this Ramadan.

Date Squares 

Dates are a staple of Ramadan. And with this recipe, you make grab-and-go bites of date squares, perfect for a quick snack. The recipe also offers steps to make this snack, even if you don’t have access to a food processor or blender. 

Spinach and Feta Omelette 

Eating energizing and nutritious food is essential during this month. Significantly as the end of the semester overlaps with Ramadan. This spinach and feta omelet is a great, filling meal to eat for Suhoor, keeping you active throughout the day.  

Tea Kettle Noodle Soup

If you’re ever looking for a warm, comforting meal, this noodle soup is the way to go. No unique ingredients are required. Take your regular ramen noodles and add some veggies, spices, etc., for a new and improved noodle/soup meal.

Additionally, you can go crazy with the toppings with endless options available. The bitesize sandwiches also allow for easy transport and assembly in large quantities.

While smoothies are always an enjoyable way to take in your favorite fruits or vegetables, mango season is upon us! So take advantage of this banana and mango smoothie. It’s a great alternative for days you don’t feel like cooking a meal but still ensures you’ll have enough energy to get through the day.
